I had alittle trouble figuring it out. Once I did I got tons of music on it with plenty of room left for movies and whatever else. I especially like the speakers. Great product. And was delivered quickly. Awesome.

IPod Touch - Future is Here

I like my IPod Touch because I think it's getting me ready for the future in interactive computing. I've been eyeballing it for awhile and finally was brought over because I got $100 off by joining the Audible Book club (I've been into audio books for awhile).

PROS:

Viewing photos on the device is the BOMB! This really sold me on the device because you can re-size the photos.

Games and applications are great because I don't like to sit idle. So when I'm waiting around (like for an appointment) I can play some games or listen to my music/audio books.

CONS:

I don't believe it's worth the full price because you don't get much memory space.

The actual device is easy to use, but as usual interacting with iTunes can be a challenge. I just don't understand why I can't drop and drag music, video, and photos into the actual device (like my iRiver). Also, I can't load and watch videos unless they are ones purchased from iTunes (there may be an application to solve that, but again, I can do that with my iRiver).

Thought it was awesome until……………

Several friends had the Ipod Touch. Though I am not a music fanatic, the number of applications available and the ease of use made it a “must have”. I was so impressed with mine that I ordered one for my husband who was trying to find a replacement for his Palm. We made the appropriate phone calls to Apple to verify the ability to “backup” the applications to a laptop. No problem! So my husband spent days manually transferring information from his Palm to the Ipod and finally he was done. He had found applications from Ipod app store that were as good or better than anything on the Palm. He was thrilled. He thought it was absolutely awesome until about a month later, he lost it at the airport. Though disappointed, he wasn’t too concerned since he had double passworded everything so in 10 unsuccessful attempts at the password, it deleted all information. So, I ordered a new Ipod Touch to replace it. In a day, we had the new Ipod. My husband called Apple to find out what he needed to do to sync it to a computer that would be searching for the other Ipod. They were very helpful and walked him through it. He attempted to access his passwords, his banking information and a number of other items. The applications were there after being synced but none of the personal information he had spent days inputting was there. He called Apple. After six (6) hours on the phone, they finally decided that though the applications are backed up, the information isn’t. He lost everything except music, pictures and games. So, if all you want are games and music, it would be great. If you want something that will hold personal information, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you can afford to lose everything you input. He immediately gave it to our daughter since it was useless for what he wanted and needed. It was promptly replaced with the Blackberry Tour…grave improvement. That will be the last Apple anything.

I’ve told so many people about my Ipod Touch I should be getting a commission. I use it for everything. I haven’t even begun to tap the abilities of this device. My kids are jealous and my friends amazed. It’s infinitely useful, free to use, and fun too! No monthly service fee, unlike a cell phone, and with skype it basically is a phone. I use mine as an alarm clock, a stop watch, a calculator, to pay bills, check account balances, order pizza, check the weather, text my kids, as a calendar, as a shopping list, as a music player, to watch videos and share pictures. I go on facebook, check my e- mail instantly, search google, as a dictionary, there is nothing it won’t do! The price was fabulous too! Cheaper than a palm pilot, which I thought I wanted until my kids showed me this. Get one for yourself and one for your kids! Perfect for christmas for the teen who has everything. Get a cover right off and a cleaning cloth. You’re gonna love it!

Ipod Touch - Great on Features, Just Ok on Sound

The ipod touch has a nice array of features, wireless being one of my favorites. I can use it to ssh into my servers when I'm away, which is very handy.

The video on the ipod touch is very nice. I still wish that iTunes incorporated some video transcoding instead of having to do it outside the box, so to speak.

My only reasons for not giving the device 5 stars: the volume and the music sound quality. I think the sound quality is fairly midrange compared to my other devices. I had a Cowon flash player that made the music really come alive. The ipod touch equalizer is fairly lame, and if someone ever creates a better one, I will pay money for it. The volume has to be turned up fairly high for audio books or music when the device is connected to my car stereo. It could be improved.

Other than that, I am very happy to have this.

3G itouch isn’t offering the 16GB. 8GB is too few, the 32GB is to many, the 16GB is just right. I am very pleased with this product. It was shipped quickly and no worries, arrived in 1 piece.

cool apps for little expense. very slick and takes up little space. great for anywhere there is wifi available. great for your music too but prefer the shuffle for that.
