Music Car only disappointment

Excellent value when you consider the price of each piece separately. I purchased the set at a local hobby shop, not on Amazon. Price was similar, 20 under the msrp. My family loves the train, my 4 1/2 year old is having a blast with it going around our tree. Quality seems top notch, what I would expect from Lionel. The only disappointment and the only reason I rated it 4 stars is the Music car, it being in the set tipped me to it over something like the Polar Express set. But it sounds awful, it will never be turned on unless I figure out a way to put in a decent synthesizer myself. In the end though I would still get this set, the Red color with Green trim really looks nice under the tree.
Be Certain You Get the Right Train

The Lionel 6-30022 is a diesel set. I’ve uploaded a photo, so click on “customer images” to see it. The photo and description that this vendor have provided really go with an entirely DIFFERENT train set, the Lionel North Pole Central #6-30020. BOTH trains are solid and well-made; either would be very nice around your Christmas tree. Just be certain you are getting the train you want when you order.
P.S. I’m not trying to confuse you – the vendor who listed one train and showed you another has taken care of that – I’m trying to help you. Either way, have a GREAT holiday season,

Train and track are good quality, very esy to set up. The train goes surprisingly fast. Music is the only downside – it sounds very cheap and tinny, and is not easy to hear over the train track noise.
