The Polar Express, the classic children’s book and movie, tells the story of a young boy’s struggle to solve the mystery of Santa Claus while aboard a very special train called the Polar Express, which transports wide-eyed kids on a hair-raising adventure to the North Pole. Now you can recreate the adventure at home with this wooden set that includes the makings for a village and inhabitants. This year’s set includes a bell for gentle sound effects. I prefer the Brio set
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This is an ok set. At the time of this review Toys R Us has it for $60 and marketplace sellers are asking more than twice that. Not sure what that’s all about but the retail price of this set is $60. The quality of the trains is ok but not as good as the Brio PE trains. I’m not big into the “cut-out” figures. I like the Brio figures, they are articulated & you can pose them, etc. The brio christmas tree is much more fun. The buildings are cool for cutouts though and I like them better than the ones that come with the brio set. The layout that comes with the set doesn’t fit on a standard Thomas Train table for what that’s worth. The tunnel connection configuration & long bridge don’t allow much flexibility in deviating from the layout shown on the box.
