The best, more realistic train ever!!!

This train set is really an awesome one. It has all the sound you could expect from areal train plus lights and a big track. The locomotive is a die cast metal model and puffs smoke from its chimmney the smoke follows the motor sound and increases in speed as the train speeds up. It also has the sounds of a real crew and a train whistle. The lights in the locomotive, light car and caboose can turn on and the doors in the box car really open its the best gift for a train fan/lover or collector, no matter the age this will do!!!

Fun realistic train

I surprised my husband with this set for Christmas (yes boys never outgrow toys!). I spent a while researching different sizes and brands and customer reviews and decided to go with this train for it’s traditional set of cars and realistic extra features, like all of the sounds it makes (horn, whistle, chugging, crew sounds, brakes), the light that works and the smoke which is so cute how it puffs out in little circles. It has been working fine, no probs (though note: to turn crew sounds on there is a switch on the bottom of one of the cars, took us a while to find that), and should be fun for years (and future children) to come.

A great value in a train set!

The Lionel New York Central Flyer Train Set is a great value and wonderful starter set. The die-cast steam locomotive is a solid, durable runner that will last for years with proper care. It features operating headlight, smoke, and Trainsounds (chug effect, crew talk, whistle). The oval of Lionel Fastrack is easy to assemble and you can expand it with more track, switches, crossings, etc. There’s a good variety of cars, including a coal tender for the locomotive, operating searchlight car, boxcar, gondola with removable load, and a caboose. Everything you need to get started is included! Whether you want a set for around the Christmas tree or the start of your own railroad empire, you can’t go wrong with this train set. Suitable for ages 8 to 80!

I purchased this train set for Christmas for my two young grandsons. It is everything I hoped it would be as far as durability and great entertainment. The lights, sounds and smoke duplicate the real thing.

A good buy.
